Lawson, Cheesbrough and Vertigan One Name Studies
This site has been developed to assist anyone researching the Lawson or Cheesbrough names in what ever part of the world they are found. All data contained in the project is made freely available and no charges are made for any data, assistance or research undertaken. According to the Scottish GRO web site the number of Lawsons living in Scotland at the times of censuses was :
1851 (4238), 1861 (4406), 1871 (4826),
1881 (5348), 1891 (5704), 1901 (6143). Also the number of Lawson births registered between 1855 and 1901 was 4079. Additionally there were 1907 marriages and 3626 deaths recorded.
