Association of Retired Police Officers (ARPO) Branch

The Torrevieja Branch meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at Sacko's Bar, El Limonar, Torrevieja at 10.30am. Details of the location and directions are shown below. There are no meetings in July and August.

The constitution of the Branch consists of an elected chairman, secretary and treasurer. The Branch year runs from 1st February annually and membership is open to all retired police officers and their spouses/partners. Membership is currently €10 per year. Annual subscriptions are from January to the end of year and payments should be made by the first meeting in January or as soon as possible thereafter.

Branch Objectives

The Purpose of the Branch is to provide facilities for members to meet at regular intervals to further social activities and offer support for its members living or visiting the Torrevieja area. Serving police officers who are perhaps considering locating to the Costa Blanca in the future are also welcome to attend our meetings and social events.

Social Events

The Branch organises monthly events consisting of meals at local restaurants where members can socialise. These consist of formal and informal gatherings with suitable dress. A wide selection of establishments are chosen to provide a varied menu but usually there is a choice to suit all tastes. Formal events are held on 2 or 3 times each year to mark special occasions such as Christmas when a more expensive menu is chosen.

Other social events take place including quiz evenings, sea fishing trips and boules matches.

Cultural Events

Fed up with reading in local press of a wonderful event we didn't even know was being held?? This is a regular annoyance to everyone. There is so much to see with little advertising of such. We cannot expect to hear of ALL the activities happening in areas outside Torrevieja but now we can be kept up to date regularly with all cultural activities and fiestas etc. being held in Torrevieja, IN ADVANCE.. Simply send an e-mail to:

(I am also receiving e-mail notification of new events). If you also want sms messages, again free of charge, include your mobile number. For those of you living outside Torrevieja, please inform any member of the committee of any event you think members may be interested in attending and he will pass details on whenever possible.

Location of Sacko's Bar

Situated in Torrevieja Travelling out of Torrevieja towards Crevillente beyond Carrefour's to the La Siesta roundabout. Take the third exit towards Urb El Limonor, then immediately right onto the road running parallel with the dual carriageway. Sacko's Bar is on the left hand side. Going towards Torrevieja - at La Siesta roundabout, take the first exit.
